Toronto: Runway for Research by York University’s Canadian Immunology Research Association

Toronto Runway for a Cause York UniversityTORONTO AREA FASHION DESIGNERS: Are you looking for a runway, for a good cause, on which to present your designs?

9 days ago, I received this email from a Charles Brian Serapio at York University:

My name is Charles Brian Serapio and I am an active member at York University’s Canadian Immunology Research Association (CIRA). CIRA is a student organization at York University whose members have the collective ambition to promote and educate students about the critical role immunology plays in our healthcare. We are trying to send a message of awareness through various streams of thought. We are hosting two (2) fashion shows held on November 22nd and February 7th both called, “Runway For Research”.

Runway for Research is a charity event where funds will go to a certain organization or a cause. Last year, all funds went to St.Michael’s Hospital for their HIV/AIDS Research Programme. In November, we are dedicating it to Diabetes with an ironic theme we call, “Candyland”.

We would like to reach out to other designers across Toronto to help out our cause. It would be greatly appreciated if you can inform all designers who are interested in displaying their work in a runway. We will be providing the rehearsal space, promotion, parking passes and venue.

If interested, we will send you all the details regarding the event. Please do not hesitate to e-mail cira@yorku.ca.

Proceed as you see fit! 🙂
